Woods’s stellar play whipped his fans into a frenzy. After everything he’s been through he remains a beloved figure. When Woods committed to the tournament a week ago tournament organizers added 30 extra shuttles buses 90 more port-o-lets and an extra admission gate.
Woods’s fall from grace is well documented and lest we forget self-inflicted. But if all isn’t forgiven there is certainly a sense that people are willing to give him another chance and they want to see Woods succeed. They want to see him ride off into the sunset if not with 19 majors then at least with an 80th PGA Tour victory.
It reached a fever pitch when Tiger Woods chipped in for birdie at the 9th hole and a chant of “Let’s-Go-Tiger” broke out among the crowd. “I can confirm he’s back” said his playing partner Brandt Snedeker. “The roars are back.”
